Hal Lawlor is the Chief Operating Officer for Smokey Bones, a full-service restaurant that delivers excellent barbeque, award-winning ribs, and good times. Lawlor is a seasoned and high-performing restaurant executive with over 25 years in the industry. He joined Smokey Bones in 2019 to spearhead a revitalization of the brand.

Since taking on the role of COO, he has been part of the leadership that launched two virtual brands for the company, The Wing Experience, and Burger Experience.

He has built a successful off-premise dining program for the brand to further its sales and reach. Smokey Bones operates 62 locations across 16 states and has been certified a “Great Place to Work” since 2020 each year.

Hal Lawlor is the Chief Operating Officer for Smokey Bones, a full-service restaurant that delivers on great barbeque, award-winning ribs, and good times. Lawlor is a seasoned and high-performing restaurant executive with more than 25 years in the industry. He joined Smokey Bones in 2019 to spearhead a revitalization of the brand. Since taking on the role as COO, he has been part of the leadership that launched two virtual brands for the company, The Wing Experience and Burger Experience. He has been integral in building a successful off-premise dining program for the brand to further its sales and reach. Smokey Bones operates 62 locations across 16 states and has been certified a “Great Place to Work” since 2020 each year.

Prior to Smokey Bones, Lawlor served as Regional Vice President of Operations for P.F. Chang’s Bistro, the international Asian-inspired restaurant concept. In this role, he led strategic operations for a group of 61 restaurants across the Northeast and Midwest. Under his leadership, the company increased sales and employee retention. Lawlor also directed the transformation of an underperforming region, taking it from the lowest ranked to consistently delivering top performance.

Hal Lawlor spent more than 20 years with Darden and their family of restaurants. He launched his career with the Red Lobster brand, where he initially served as a General Manager. During his tenure with the company, he rose through the ranks and served in various leadership capacities including Director of Operations, Regional Vice President, and ultimately Vice President of Operations.

Lawlor specializes in creating strategic alliances with organization leaders to effectively align with and support key business initiatives. He’s dedicated to building and retaining high performance teams and continually strives to create an environment of clarity, focus, and confidence.
